Shweta Basu Prasad joins Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty in The Tashkent Files

After Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty, actor Shweta Basu Prasad has joined Vivek Agnihotri’s The Tashkent Files, which revolves around former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death.

The Tashkent Files is the country’s first crowd-sourced thriller. Vivek Agnihotri has even stated that this is the most researched work on Lal Bahadur Shastri and it is the most apolitical film about a political leader.

Talking about the film’s star cast, Vivek said, “Both Naseeruddin and Mithun are powerhouses and were obvious choices for the film. This film also brings them together onscreen after a long time.”
